Psychotherapist as Activist

With the exception of very emotionally ill people, the aim of Integral Psychotherapy should not be to help clients adjust better to a society that is inherently dysfunctional. On the contrary, it should focus on educating people not only to grow their humanity – that is, be better as well as feel better – but also to evolve in their capacity to serve humanity and be a transformer of society, as this is also one of the best ways to accelerate one’s own growth and development. This talk will therefore explore what it means to be an activist and how, in these chaotic and uncertain times, it may need to be an important part of every transpersonal therapists ‘armoury’! Workshop. Bringing soul into psychotherapy. The psychotherapy of the future needs to be about the greater emergence of soul in the world, and therapists need to work out of soul even when dealing with the deepest wounds in a client. Therefore healing the separate self and bringing the higher self into expression need to occur at the same time. In this workshop, we will look at the model I have developed to work from a place of soul, which also has to include evaluating the level the client is at and consequently their capacity for working effectively on themselves.
