Dr. Farnoosh Nouri is an Adjunct Professor at Texas Woman’s University and Southern Methodist University. She is also a psychotherapist working in private practice with a concentration on trauma and emotional regulation.
Dr. Mohammad Sadoghi is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of California, Davis. He has co-authored a chapter on “Sufism and Optimal Health”, which will appear in the book “Better Health through Spiritual Practices: A Guide to Religious Behaviors and Perspectives that Benefit Mind and Body”.

The three presenters will discuss the concept of isolation versus loneliness, achieving inner peace by describing the medical approach and effects of heart awareness as practiced in Tamarkoz (Sufi meditation) and going beyond the layers of the “self”.
