Kundalini, being human and the urge to discover our true self

“The most exciting breakthroughs of the twenty-first century will not occur because of technology, but because of an expanding concept of what it means to be human”

John Naisbitt

In this presentation I clarify what it means to be human by suggesting that it is only humans who have the potential to look for the truth. It seems that Nature has blessed humans with this ability and to understand more about this urge, I turn to the concept of the kundalini. In the Indian system, kundalini energy is associated with a serpent, which in its dormant state is said to lie at the base of the spine. Knowledge about human embryological morphological unfolding gives us a new understanding of the source of this energy. I hypothesize this urge is not only what drives religious seekers but also scientists. However it is the spiritual seeker who wants not only to know the truth but experience it as well. It is suggested that the easiest way to awaken this potential is by increasing our capacity to love.
